- Mai Beauty is a fresh new all-Canadian company started by twenty-six year old Maija Reisenauer, a young perfumer with a passion for design and quality cosmetics. Mai Beauty was born out of necessity; when Maija couldn’t find a happy medium between too-earthy organic and too-unearthly large-scale industry cosmetics. She still wanted the quality and look of the large-scale industry cosmetics, but cared about which ingredients were being put into the cosmetics as well. Frustrated with the lack of any middle ground and coupled with Maija’s experience, Mai Beauty just kind of created itself. Mai Beauty is a company that is top-to-bottom free of harmful chemicals, preservatives, and certified by PETA to be fully cruelty-free—all while still having a glamorous and youthful look. The inspiration for Mai Beauty’s unique design: the starlets of the Silver Screen era. And it was our goal to reclaim that natural beauty that once flourished in those stylish days gone by—days (and nights) filled with glamour, sophistication, femininity, and of course that perfect, sexy pout!
